Yeah, so, ummm...I was thinking how all of the print & poster items offered by the print-on-demand people all fuckin' sucked.
A. They were waaay too overpriced for there to be any type of profit margin.
B. There was a shockingly limited selection of sizes (none of them particularly large).
C. The print quality was garbage.
D. The framing options sucked ass.
E thru Z. Some other comments relating to the incredibly shitty quality and fee structure, but it would probably just serve to bore you senseless and dissuade you from reading any further.
The point is, when I wanted a print for myself, I would always produce a super high resolution image and send it out to (gasp!) Poster Ninja* to have it printed up (trust me, I get absolutely nothing for saying that).
So it all seemed kinda shitty that I could have the big, clear, HQ dope prints on my wall, but anyone that came along and just happened to buy one off the site got stuck with an inferior quality print, at an astronomical markup (here's looking at you Shopify & Printful).
The solution?
Offer up all the print files as digital downloads.
Two bucks a piece. Unlimited downloads per piece. Instant delivery.
And then you, the illustrious consumer of these fine wares, can then choose to take that file to whichever print palace you so desire to have 'em blow it up for ya (and really, it doesn't have to be Poster Ninja**).
Win. Win.
Though, maybe you do 'win' a bit more - I mean, goddamn, it's only two bucks!
